Despite being on Earth with its origin, life can occur on the Moon. Small creatures called tardigrades, also known as water bears, can survive creatures living on the lunar surface after crashing on the moon after an Israeli probe.
Tardigrades are one of the most difficult life forms known to science, being able to survive for years without heat and cold, radiation and food or water.
In April this year, the Arc Mission Foundation, an American nonprofit organization, sent a capsule to the moon, which included, among other things, thousands of living water bears as part of a project to preserve information about life on Earth Terrestrial catastrophe was in the case.
But the Israeli Beresat robot carrying the microscopic animals crashed on the lander landing, possibly releasing them to the lunar surface.Experts say that it is highly likely that the Tardigrade survived the crash and may survive for some time under harsh lunar conditions. However, the possibility of a race of space water bears carrying on the moon is very unlikely, with organisms unable to breed without access to food and water.
